Crayon Wreath

My cousin, Kristie, is a teacher. I love her very much and like to make her feel special. Seeing as crafting is one of my favorite things in the world to do, this is what I made her.

Instructions:

3 boxes of crayons
2 embroidery hoops
glue gun
glue sticks
any type of accessories

Lay the embroidery hoops out, small inside of large. Then in a symmetrical form glue all of the crayons onto the small and large embroidery hoop. When you are finished glue some fun accessories on it and you are finished with your own crayon wreath!

Something Borrowed

This Emily Griffin novel is to die for! We all have those friends that have to be the center of attention at all times, but Rachel took the backseat for way to long. She has now come out of her shell and is determined to change the way she has always thought. When it comes to the choice of best friend or boy I would not have been able to make the choice that she did.

I always feel that books are much better than the movie, but this movie held up its part of the deal. It was absolutely hilarious, along with the romance and drama. This book was perfect to turn into a movie and cannot wait to see more from Emily Griffin.

Safe Haven

The book starts out with Katie, a single woman, living in a cottage in the small town of Southport, North Carolina. She has just moved in and is working in a small restaurant in town. She is a very pretty lady and her arrival and lifestyle raise questions about her past and present. There is a guy, Alex, who runs a convenience store where she goes a couple of times a week. As her relationship with him and his kids takes off more questions of her past arise.
Katie’s neighbor, Jo, helps her sort through some of her problems, but as soon as she starts to become comfortable with her new life all of the secrets of her past come out and she is sent into a world wind of emotions that only the truth can uncover. Her abusive husband comes to find her in this town and when he shows up it is bad news for everyone.
I will not spoil the entire book, but I will start by saying that this book was a nail bitter. There were so many times that I wanted to flip to the last couple of pages and find out what was going to happen. This was not a typical Nicholas Sparks book; normally I cannot read the pages for the stream of tears coming for my eyes and this one is I was cheering for the happiness I was crying because I felt that she finally felt free.
I have never been abused or even felt hurt, but as the thoughts were going through this woman’s head I felt the pain and anguish that her husband has caused her, and as Sparks switched to the husbands thoughts I could feel the anger and was almost scared for her life. It was probably one of the best books I have ever read…..But I say that about most books J definitely a must read!
I cannot WAIT to see the movie it is going to be amazing!

Now the honeymoon was a trip to remember! Just for fun here is a picture of our view from our resorts room in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The purpose of this post is to tell about the book that I got a chance to read because AMERICAN AIRLINES SUCKS....... We were supposed to have a 2 hour layover in Miami on the way home and it turned into a 9 hour layover! It sucked by all means, but in the meantime I read a whole book. Nicholas Sparks book to be specific. I know, I know. Nicholas Sparks normally always kills someone off in this horrific sad moment that I cry like a baby, but this time I only cried because of the shock and happiness that I was in.

This book had me at the first chapter. I am writing a review of this book, and will put it up shortly.

Getting Married

Well I have to share this with the world because it makes me who I am. I got married 16 days ago and I am the luckiest girl in the universe! We had the most beautiful wedding that I could have ever imagined and all of the hard work that my mother and I put into it definitely paid off. My photographer (Megan Forehand) outdid herself completely. Pictures are the one thing that I will be able to take away from this experience and visit later, only because my mom forgot the video camera. Anyways here are a couple of highlight pictures from our wedding.

There will be more to come once they are all finished! BUT THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Follow-up on Water for Elephants

I am just now getting around to letting everyone know how Water for Elephants was, but IT WAS AMAZING. There are so many wonderful aspects of the book that make you stop and think wow animals really do have a mind of their own. The characteristics that shape the book are based on adventure, animal cruelty, murder, sex, lies, love and loyalty. It is amazing to see animals work the same way that people work. It takes a long time to get to know someone, but when you do you start learning not only the outside of them but the inside of them also the quirks that make them who they are and even the things that you couldn’t live without. I definitely cannot wait to see the movie, even though I know it is not going to compare to the book it is still fun.
